flower. is power.

I had this top

art fashion. fashion art.

It’s Helle Mardahl’s first solo exhibition in New York at LaViolaBank and it’s an absolute must for everyone into avant-garde.
Helle’s art is made for getting lost in it. The viewer is confronted with heads, fingers, arms and legs popping at her screaming about the change of world, shift of values to more commercial ways. Despite their fragmented bodies they all seem to shoulder the weight of it. Morals, ethics and integrity suffer; illusions dissolve – balance has been corrupted.

we need a revolution.

Whilst fashion is calling back the 80ies all along I just discovered once again how intrigued I am by the 60ies. Following the Golden Age of the 50ies an era of revolt had begun. Since at the end of the fifties a youth culture had developed their strong voice was heard throughout the sixties and great movements took place. Society shifted and people fought for their rights. Women got loose and wanted equal rights just like their husbands. The skirts got short and shorter

It’s beginning of May and the summer season is officially open since we had our first bbq of the year at the weekend. The sun is out, everything is green and I have the nagging feeling of needing a new wardrobe. I want to go and create my new me Summer 09. All those painted flower dresses, gladiator sandals, playsuits and jerseys are screaming at me from their isolated shop floor position to set them free and give them a life filled with love. My love to them when fondly worn.

All images, illustrations and design on here are mine unless otherwise stated but should I miss to credit anyone for their image please help me out by getting in touch. Blog Widget by LinkWithin
