Since every well dressed lady should own one hat at least – better still 2 or 3 for various occasions – I thought I’d pick my favourites on etsy.com.

The choice is vast and there are so many creative souls offering the finest of millinery to the fashionable lady. A hat makes a statement and it may take a little courage to pull it off – the fashion of wearing a hat has if not disappeared at least gone back to a minority still appreciating this accessory, only seen at weddings and at Ascot. But I think with head gear in all forms shown on the runways recently it’s ought to make a comeback and I will certainly join in…
Did you know that “Is my hat on straight?” is a catch phrase meaning “How do I look?” dating back to the times when ladies hats were huge and required some pinning (1900 onwards).
