Started their business in 2008, and set up office in 2009!! In this year, they promoted there new house brand “UNITDOT”. The plan is to make eco friendly bamboo eyewear fashionable, and break into the European market.

UNITDOT. have a design team with over 9 years of eyewear experience..this being not only sunglasses but regular everyday use optical frames also ..The designs are unisexed based and for the age groups of 18 – 35 .. respectively… the RRP for there eyewear is in the region of £100 to £120 .

UNITDOT sunglasses come in the following styles:

aviator, in 2 different colours ,

aviator style with acetate frame and bamboo carved arms .

and a wayfafer style with acetate frames and laser carved bamboo arms ..( check photo’s for more details ) ..

all have soft gradient lens colours and are UV400 standards..

The optical arange consists of 4 designs:

They all have the same bamboo arm details , with the UNITDOT logo laser carved into the arm..

The frames are different colours and styles ..

2 large lens styles , one in black frame one in brown ..

2 in a smaller lens size .. deep red ,

and a bamoo colour finsh.

Even thou all the glasses look heavy they are very light to handle  and feel comfortable when wore on your face.

Colin  has been working closely with UNITDOT for the past year or so, choosing to market them in the uk hopefully for this summer 2010. He firmly believes that eco friendly products need to be made more aware of. Simply because it is better for everybody and the planet .. especially bamboo because it can grow so quickly and has so many new uses .

The jeans are absolutely second to none designs with lots of detailing and each one comes with a stylish surprise: the lining of the pockets is different on each line.

Angel has set up the label together with her husband and a friend starting off with organic denims for men and extending the range further with t-shirts, all organic, of course. The production runs are limited so you’ll get a real collectors piece! The first line used brocate silk, going on to shirting fabric and now using recycled tie fabric which I personally find a great idea. Do you sometimes need just a little moment of seeing something beautiful to lift your spirits and change completely the mood you are in?

Personally I love muffs and can’t understand why they are not widely available anymore. What was your motivation when you started out?

I just love muffs and believe every woman needs one to keep their hands warm in. The real clever bit is that my muffs are also a bag and fit your mobile and keys, make-up or other small items in. It’s an allround must have accessory!

Was it not difficult to set up your own business?

Yes, it’s probably the hardest thing I have done so far but I’m determined. My concept won the 1st prize in the CULN Mind your own Fashion competiton which lead to a few opportunities and thet’s how it all began. I do everything myself which can be hard at times but works for me. I design the website, sort all the admin.

Where are the muff-bags produced?

Each piece is unique and handmade by myself,  you can even order your custom made version over my online store, just get in touch. If you need a bigger quantity that is no problem either, just ask. With all the “fast fashion” available I think a lot of people love the idea of unique handmade items and I that’s exactly what I do. One lady recently wanted one matching her wedding dress so she sent a fabric sample which I could use to match to.

Where do you take your inspiration from?

Anything inspires me, it could be a piece of fabric or something else I see in daily life, a colour or texture, just about anything. I only make a muff I would wear myself, I need to be 100% behind it, the one I wear today matches my coat.

So what’s next?

I’m currently in the process of developing my next line which will be bang on trend and in which I explore different materials and colours. The shape will also be different and you can wear them as a bumbag too which will be great for the festival season.

Kate has allowed me a little peek at the new prototype and all I can say is it’s going to be so cool.
