It was about to get dark, I sat at my desk sensing a really different light coming in through the windows. Have you ever noticed the gloomy shine of light at sunset the night before it snows? Or a thunder storm? It’s light but it’s dark, it’s magical.

As you have probably noticed I have changed the design of my site a bit which made me feel so much more “sorted”. I guess most of you have experienced it before, the new dress for your blog. It was coming a long time but I could somehow not really put my finger on what needed doing. And, just like a miracle with the dawn of a new decade it also dawned on me what exactly was wrong.

dilemma #3. odd socks.
Are you one of those who always wears matching socks which come out of a neatly sorted drawer at the bottom of your built-in wardrobe? My friend Claire is, she always wears matching socks and never looses the other one between wearing and washing. I envy her deeply for that. I own probably 6 pairs of socks, if that. Everyone knows it and some of you may suffer from it right now: the January blues. I really didn’t want to fall into it this year but feel it lingering a little bit in the background still. The festive season is over and everything seems bleaker than before with all the glitter and friends around.

I hope you had a lovely Christmas and got everything you wished for. I certainly did get more than I ever expected and feel so lucky having so lovely people around me all the time. Amongst all the gifts was some money, too, and I’m planning to hit the winter sales with it one day [...]
winter warmer. the duffle coat.
On my way to work this morning I saw a little girl walking to school – and she had this beautiful pastell jade green duffle coat on with two clasps at the top giving it a little swing with every step.
grey day. work wear on a budget.
Grey is not a colour. How can I be obsessed with it? Grey is the rain. Boredom is grey. Clouds. Even though everything associated with grey seems to be have a negative touch, I am in love with it. I must have 10 different grey jumpers, some even the same. I got grey tights and grey shoes. Grey nail varnish even. We recently redecorated our living area. In grey.Grey is blunt and that’s what I love about it.

The magazine is downloadable for a small fee of £1.50 in PDF format with all profits going to a teenage cancer charity, based in Huddersfield UK, called the Laura Crane Trust.
