My favourite shows were actually against my expectations those of Ashish, Louise Goldin (not so unexpected), Christopher Kane of course and Eley Kishimoto; each of these for different reasons.

Ashish went wild and I love it. Breaking the trend of neutral colours he splashed out and allows us to be cheekily overdressed. My love to the circus is revived and I will follow him suit and get involved with all sorts of colours, wild prints and sequins.
Speaking of sequins if you have not already done so check his website out…it’s lovely, I played a few moments before entering.

Louise Goldin’s collection really caught my eye. She states that her inspiration for it was “Eskimos, the Arctic and Mars.” That’s it. The cuts are working the body; there are a lot of interesting lines following the shape. Shoulders are big, they seem to be back and that’s great news (we all know it makes the hips narrower). Louise Goldin was awarded the Swarowski Emerging Talent – Ready To Wear Award, I think well deserved.

My love to the circus is revived and I will follow him suit and get involved with all sorts of colours, wild prints and sequins.

Eley Kishimoto claim that style does not have to go in line with showing your “bits”. They are quite right as their collection proves yet again. And I do love the attention to every detail and the way these garments simply dress you. Colour wise it is suggested to mix yellow and purple, it’s so surprisingly stylish! Geometric prints and 2 piece suits, skirts and dresses… So lovable. Classic! And if you got involved with some fashion tights this winter I recommend keeping them tight.

Christopher Kane to me is a genius of design. He seems to follow the concept of programs and minimizes every design range to one idea which he then cleverly adapts to form the collection. The body is intersected in geometrical shapes and it’s amazing how female and sexy the designs are despite all the straight lines involved. Robotic but sensual – it’s hypnotising. No wonder that he is the star and wunderkind of the scene.

So far so good, there is obviously plenty more to see and find out. My conclusion so far is that we ought to splash out on colour, embrace our female figure and invest in well made structured garments that last come next winter. And, at last: the skirt is back… (image Tim Whitby / Getty)
